Preperations for Butch Rice
After a life devoted to serving his country, providing for his family, and serving his God, the time has come for us to celebrate the short life of Franklin "Butch" Rice. Visitation will be from 6-8 Sunday at Pace Stancil Chapel in Cleveland Tx. His funeral service will be held @ 2pm Monday afternoon at First Baptist church Cleveland Tx. We have asked that in place of flowers that donations be made to www.happyfeetmissions.com. This mission was my fathers passion and there is no better way to honor his life than allowing this mission to continue. We thank you for your prayers and support and are so grateful for such good friends and family. Please pass this information to all who need it.

Final Notes on Dad
Dear Friends,
Today, September 23, God called one of his children home to be with Him. We covet your continued prayers and support as my family begins to work through these trying days and weeks to come. Please know that in the days to come we will be posting information on services to celebrate the life of a wonderful man. As that information becomes available it will be distributed through this blog. The family has asked that in place of flowers, donations be made to www.happyfeetmissions.com. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we make it through this time.

Dad
On behalf of my family I thank you for all of your continued prayer and thoughts being sent up. There have been a vast amount of decisions that have been made in th last.24 hours and I feel that it is important to pass them along to our prayer warriors. After a Dr. Visit this afternoon it was determined that normal brain function will not return due to the extensive brain damage that was caused due to cardiac arrest while in route to the hospital. Due to the damaged that was caused we, as a family, have made the dfficult decision to remove the respirator from his lungs. With this decision made, we are now at the mercy of God. Over the next several hours we will monitor his condition closly and know that a gracious God is n control beyond medicine and machines. please pray.for Dads comfort and peace for his family. I will contour to post as more decisions may be made and as more developments may become available. We know that many people are praying and ask that you continue to do so. Thank you for your support and please continue to lift us up during this time.
Dear Friends,
I first off want to thank all of you for your continued prayers for my Dad, may family, and my mother as we conquer this monumental task that has been given to us. We have asked the "Why?" questions and are left only to know that God is in control of this situation and that what He plans for our lives is going to be the ultimate outcome. I will ask that you continue to share this blog with your friends, family and prayer warriors in an effort to flood my family with prayer right now.
The situation we are dealing with now does not afford us the luxury of hourly updates or changes. The progress is slow and information changes slowly. Please know my family and I will post updates as we receive them and had time to process them mentally and emotionally. I understand information has been slow and in a situation such as this it is difficult to wait for new updates. Your deep rooted love for my Father and his family is evident in your eagerness and desires to know how he is doing and I am very grateful to know that we have so many people that love and care for us. I thank all of you for your love and support and ask that you continue to bath this situation and my family in prayer.
At this time there is no new information to put out. Dad is resting and we have been assured that he is not in any pain. As we go through today, there will be more tests administered and when there is something new to report, I will post information we are prepared to report.
I thank all of you deeply for your continued love and support for my father, mother and the rest of our family. It is through this love and our faith that we continue to move forward, knowing that Gods will is going to be done in this situation. Please continue to pray and lift us up through this time.

At 1:30 PM Wednesday the Doctor came in to do an evaluation on my dad in an effort to prepare him for an angiogram that was scheduled for this morning. Originally the Doctor had told us that an angigram was necessary to determine the location of the aneurysm and make an attempt to repair it and prevent future issues. The risk involved here was that Dads kidneys may not filter the solutions pumped into his body for the procedure. However, we felt that the damage to his kidneys needed to be weighed over the damage that could occur to his brain by not locating and repairing the aneurysm. After some tests were run this morning the Doctor determined that at this point the angiogram is too risky for his condition. The following 24 hours are going to be full of decisions to make and constant monitoring. Over the next 24 hours I will ask that we all pray fervently for Gods will to be done in this situation. On behalf of my family and my Dad I thank each and every one of you for your continued support and love demonstrated to us. We know that regardless of the outcome of this, God had his hand in it and it WILL be for the greater good. Thank you for your prayers and love and I will post more information as it is received.

Butch Rice
In an effort to minimize false information on my dad I will be posting all updates through this blog. On September 20 my dad colapsed at home after complaining of a headache at about 4pm. I route to the hospital his heart stopped and CPR was administered for approximately 10 minutes. After being stabilized, he was careflighted to Herman Hospital in Houston. He is currently in ICU in a coma and still unresponsive. It was determined that he had an anuerism on his brain that ruptured and caused sever bleeding on his brain. During the night he was experiencing seizures which has now subsided. The next 24-48 hours will be crucial. As of right now we are simply waiting and praying for him and his health. I will ask that as you pass this information on to dfferen prayer groups and friends please forward them the link to this blog so that they receive the most accurate information and to prevent a gross amount of misinformation. We thank you or your thoughts and prayersvand wevwill do our best to keep all of you
informed to updates.
